Seated amidst ruins #10blogs10days

This scribbling relates to not just a personal experience but also to an underlying element of taking things for granted, how the presence or rather absence of something adds value to routine. It also subtly hints at the value and the importance of knowledge in our life. The forest like mind of ours needs the benevolence of Ma Sarswati to stay on righteous path.Seated amidst ruins...micro-poetry attempted in free verse, is about an idol I saw in the defunct University campus. The breezy shades of ficus, sprawling lawn, unkempt though, badminton court, strewn with foliage rusty benches, waiting, for regular visitors, their unfinished stories hanging in the air, stranded lecture halls, scribblings of last tutorials, gazing forlornly from the whiteboards, broken furniture, haphazardly stored in vacant niches. Screeching silence. But when you enter the now defunct premises, her presence holds you. Mesmerizing eyes. Benevolent smile. Radiant with love. Inviting with serenity. The pathway to...

Homewards

Subtle, the dance of heather-beds,  heady, the scent of rain-bathed greens, graceful, the floating fluffy cotton-wool, beautiful, the gurgling song of Suket. Mesmerizing, like rhythm of heart.  Linking with Sammi Cox Weekend Writing Prompt Welfare unto all  Rab rakha 🤗🤗🤗

Condolences : Hathras Horror

I do not grieve you, my child.  I know. I know,  that the predators came devouring.  The venomous sting, of their gratified desires, stained and soiled you.  The vile shadows,  purring with pleasure,  prowl brazenly,  in abysmally dark nights. Savage, shameless scavengers feasting on a vulnerable prey. Like you.  Yes. We, the people, will participate  in the ensuing politics,  voicing our opinions vehemently,  on blaring platforms  before a deaf and dumb audience.  And then?  One day the din will die down. And you will be forgotten.  Your existence, erased. Your memories, sullied.  Your pain, brutally mocked.  But, the beasts! They will still lurk.  In the alleys, by lanes  and many pathways.  Waiting to strike again.  To pounce on their lusts.  So no.  I do not grieve you my child. Only this that may you rest  in a blessed sanctified retreat. Linking with Tuesda...

The Barsela

The word megalith transports me to my home town...to the Barsela right next to my house. The heritage monument that I had described in my post... I live near "Barselas"  way back in 2011...  Today the word megalith takes me home: And my pen scribbles : Down in the valley,  in the outskirts of small township,  by the side of gurgling Suket,  the megaliths,  the Barselas,  watch our stories unfolding. The remnants of royalty,  sentinels of time.  Their eyes fixed,  gaze, eternal,  bodies, weathered,  expressions, unwavering  but their spirits breathing.  Slow, strained breath of senescence.
