When you become your own muse

That moment, when you look in the mirror and feel like tucking that stray hair properly, when you run the kohl on the lower eye line, smooth, smoky, a little smudged too, when you feel like matching all your accessories right and looking perfect, when you want the mirror to smile back at you and say “Hello beautiful ! “ Because you are in love, not the cliché romanticism, but smitten, by the sheer beauty of life, the adventures of journey and endeavours for reaching happy horizons. For a blind date with life, part dressed, I look up in the mirror and smile at that girl, with curls let loose and painted lips puckered up, ready to kiss her partner.

The inwards quest

Dispelling the dark,  sparkling with bliss and blessings,  radiating joy,  that small twinkling lamp beckons,  for a brazen brave sojourn.  Happy Diwali  Welfare unto all  Rab rakha 🤗

Essence of Diwali

Exuberance in the air,  that come what may attitude,  the warmth, cozy vibes of love,  heavenly perfume of home,  little lamps light up fresh hopes,  this, essence of Diwali. Welfare unto all  Rab rakha 🤗

Festival of lights

Diwali.  Regal. August.  Twirling, tinkling, twinkling.  Flickering lights, defeating night. Festival.

Diwali on my mind

Vibrant sparkling hearts, breaking through the darkest night, pious rejoicing.

Lost in the stars

Lying on our backs,  in summer blankets,  gazing at the dome of the sky,  the stars and constellations  sprayed like fine glittering Mukaish.  Our silences talk. The sky lights up  with the ecstatic dance  of a shooting star. Hasty forget-me-not wish. Quick stay-by-me-always wish. And then I fall asleep. Cozily nestled on your arm. Such perfect Kodak moments. Welfare unto all Rab Rakha

Shopping spree

Strolling hand in hand in the bustling market, we looked for pieces of happiness bartering our yesterdays for prettier tomorrows. And in our shopping spree, we bought tiny little moments, all for free. PHOTO PROMPT © Rochelle Wisoff-Fields Linking with Friday Fictioneers

Picstories

Pictures, in black, white, grey and beautiful colors of the pallet, unstained with the insistence of being liked, unedited memoirs, undisputed testimonies of being joyously alive. Such pictures that tell our stories, that echo the sweet times. Digital albums, suddenly bereft of such pictorial verses. Linking with Friday Fictioneers PHOTO PROMPT COURTESY TED STRUTZ

Haven

At the eventide, that purple twilight hour, when the day is done, and the tired birds return to their haven, I too retreat. To my sanctuary, my refuge. Destination, home. Synonymous – you. Linking with Sammi Cox Weekend Writing Prompt #126 Haven

Drugged on life

Tiny little moments, infinitesimally small, simple, ordinary affairs, served with extra dollop of love, that take my breath away. Life happens in such slow old-school fragments. And like a slow poison, they blend, infusing and diffusing in veins, interwoven so intricately, assimilated so seamlessly that we cannot tell them apart. The dose thoroughly monitored and balanced. Until the addiction consumes us. Totally. Merry hearts intoxicated with the beauty that this momentary Sojourn holds, they drink the tonic slowly, and the aftertaste, that yummilicious vanilla essence, lingers. Drugged on life and proudly so. The intoxication contagious, I hope the spirit spreads. Linking with Thin Spiral Notebook : 100 words : poison

The conquest

At last the conquest, the divine over devil. Ah! The revelry. Haiku prompt by @baffled at Twitter

Vijayadashami

The spirit resonating, with the dhak of dhol. The circle of life: the august arrival, the meaningful sojourn, the splendorous farewell, celebrated with fervour. The journey of soul, through nine waxing moons, taking us a step closer, to the divinity within; a step away, from the devil, that lurks in deep dark kernels. From the adrift, erring, and wandering Ravana towards the abundant, the prosperous, the blissed, and the blessed Rama. Blush, bliss and beauty for us, dance, devotion and divinity for us, skill, strength and security for us. Hold us till we meet again. Jai Ma. Jai Jai Ma.

Devotion

In the midnight hours, your name, answers all trials. We seek, you suffice. Jai Ma. Jai Jai Ma.

Light our paths

You show us the light,  when we wander in dark lanes,  guide our wobbly steps.  Jai Ma. Jai Jai Ma.

Glory to Ma

The primal power, that bestows infinite grace, to her, the glory. Jai Ma. Jai Jai Ma.

Blessed Eternally

Radiant like the sun, serene like silver sliver, forever blessing. Jai Ma. Jai Jai Ma.

An imploration

Amidst the chaos, soothing, the chant of your name. In thee, we find peace. Jai Ma. Jai Jai Ma.

Vandana

I pray and you grant. I surrender, you salvage. You guide and I grow. Jai Ma. Jai Jai Ma.
