Winter rebellion

Gloved hands,
Busy knitting,
Sitting by the side of
The warm hearths.
The loving folds of
Quilts and blankets;
The dressing up in
Layers and jackets.
Winters, we’re ready
To take on thee.

Linking up with Trifextra : Week Forty-Four - Write exactly 33 words about rebellion and/or revolt.  Interpret it as you will, just keep it to 33 words.

  1. Ha! I love this! (: Now I'll feel rebellious every time I go out with my gloves and jacket this winter.

  2. Yes, one must prepare to take on the chilly air of winter :)

  3. Sometimes I wonder if I like crocheting for the sole purpose of spreading the expanding afghan on my legs to keep warm. I don't like being cold.

    1. This is so thoughtfully and beautifully said. I can almost feel the warmth of the expanding afghan radiating.

  6. ahhh, such a good 33, mostly because I truly dislike winter. I hate having to wear a coat. I do...I rebel against it as much as I can, thick sweaters, a run from the car to whereever. ;)

this was so good in showing that distain, that we must build an arsenal against it.

  7. Indeed we are, Ruby. However, Chicago is having a brief yet lovely warm up. 66 today and yaaaay! I really loved this but I love the warmth of winter.

    1. It sounds like I need to shift to Chicago. I love dressing up in winters. The coats and jackets happen to be my favorite.

  11. No, I will never be ready for winter. My tropical upbringing deals with the chill of winter, but it is never welcome. Ugh! The bother of putting on those layers.... Sometimes, I feel like the little teapot after I bulked up for the cold. :-)

    1. I like the way you put it - little teapot after I bulked up. Winters - white and chilly, not a welcome but now that they are here, guess we got to fight them.

  12. Aww. This entry is one of the sweetest I've read. God, I wish it were cold here in New Orleans. My kids wore shorts today!

    1. You are kidding me right? Even though I like wearing warm clothes, I can do better with sun and warm weather. It is only early December, and the distant hills are covered with snow and we have not had sun for last couple of days. It is sooooo cold here.

  14. This is great! I never thought of it this way. I'm now looking at my new coat as upgraded body armor.

Re-reading this, I got a visual of Arnold Schwarzenegger gearing up on the beach in Commando. Awesome!

    1. I like your re-reading part. That makes me so happy. Though I have not seen Arnold in Commando. Well, pick up the armors and join the soldiers :)
