The Thunder

He felt the thunder of thoughts in his mind - that his heart had stopped for a while - a very short while.
And in that brief moment, he saw his entire life with her.
He had never felt so complete before - so alive ever before.
He had never felt this love before.
The thunderbolt had finally struck him.

  2. This reminds me of that scene in The Godfather when Michael sees his first wife for the first time and is stunned. His buddy says, "I think you got hit by the thunderbolt." And yes, sometimes that's how it feels. You captured it beautifully.

    1. That was the inspiration. I have never been able to drive out the word "thunderbolt" after having read it. Thank you for appreciating this. I was hoping that I could do justice to it.
