“What’s your name?”
“Edith.”
“Age?”
“3.”
“Where do you live?”
“Home.”
“And where exactly is your home?”
“With mamma and daddy.”
"Sure." "Adwin, Check if we have a missing report for "Edith, 3"".
This weekend's challenge is to write a story entitled 'Lost' in exactly 33 words. The word 'lost' can only appear in the title, not your 33 words
This is my write up for the challenge. But I wrote more than 33 words actually. (I found it a little difficult to stop). If you would like to read further, check out the post marked "Lost".

That's a clever way to do it.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much.
Deleteawww poor Edith. Great catch on 3 year old speak.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I thought a lot about it and then a remembered a conversation with my nephew regarding where he lived when he was 4. His responses were on parallel lines and that it what triggered the idea. I am happy that it clicks.
DeleteOh, no. I love this child. So well done. A parent's nightmare.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kelly.
DeleteOh, that something so simple can stir the pit in every mother's stomach and make their arms feel empty for a child to save. A director of the orchestra of the heart- that is what a writer is. Brilliant job.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all the appreciating and encouraging words.
DeleteNice response to the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandy. I just got a little lucky with the idea this time.
DeleteI like this. Sounds just like a child at that age :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I am glad that I could do justice to the character.
DeleteI was that little girl!! It is very scary!
ReplyDeleteOh, I did not intend to scare you. Next time, I will try to work out something lighthearted.
DeleteWe used to get lost kids at the front desk when I worked in the library. They had answers like this all the time. Clever and well captured.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It is good to see that it blends well with the theme.
DeleteI have a three year old and I dread this happening. I love how you were able to get into the child's head. Great job. Thanks for linking up and hopefully see you for the weekday challenge starting on Monday.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I cherish your feedback.
