Blooming Thanks

In the vibrant embrace of spring, nature exudes an undeniable joy that mirrors the peace within our hearts. This haiku encapsulates that serene interplay, where blooming flowers in the garden and an inner melody create a harmonious celebration of life. As the season brings renewed energy and calm, a deep gratitude arises for the simple, transformative beauty that surrounds us—reminding us to cherish both the external wonders of spring and the inner tranquility it inspires.

Flowers in the garth,
song, mayhaps two in the heart.
This and gratitude!

The rhythm of devotion

In Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, during Maha Shivratri, an awe-inspiring gathering of deities infuses the air with profound spiritual and celebratory energy. This annual international fair transforms the town into a vibrant stage of divine revelry. The poem captures this celestial spectacle, portraying gods descending, nature adorned in spring, and hills echoing with drumbeats, culminating in Shiva’s grand wedding. It invites us to experience the transcendent union of cosmic devotion and festive celebration with joyous fervor.

Love in Bloom.. Rose Day

On Rose Day, as spring breathes new life into nature, this haiku emerges as a heartfelt tribute to both the season’s renewal and the blossoming of love within. It captures the vibrant spirit of spring—celebrating the garden’s roses as symbols of beauty and hope—while reflecting on the intimate, personal stirrings of the heart. This poem invites you to pause and savor the delicate interplay between nature’s grace and the tender emotions that color our lives, inspiring a celebration of love, growth, and the timeless allure of spring.

Celebrating spring.
Roses bloom in the garden,
and love in my heart.

Happy Rose Day!!!

Vasant Vibes

Basant Panchami heralds the arrival of spring, painting the earth in vibrant hues of yellow and awakening hearts to new beginnings. Dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of wisdom, music, and the arts, this festival inspires creativity and spiritual growth. In this tanka, I’ve woven the essence of spring’s melodies with the divine grace that breathes life into every word penned. The mustard blooms, the playful breeze, and the quill’s gentle strokes echo the celebration of nature’s renewal and the soul’s poetic journey. May these lines dance with the same joy and devotion that Basant Panchami evokes.

Melodies of spring.
Oh! By Thy Grace, my quill drafts,
songs of lush bloomings.
Beneath the mustard awnings,
winds sing, life flirts, in Thy love.

Happy Basant Panchami! May your quill always dance to the melodies of inspiration.

A winter's reflection

In the quietude of winter, we often find ourselves confronted with the depths of our own being. This free verse exploration delves into the emotional landscape of this season, from despair to hope. Like the character of Ebenezer Scrooge, we may find ourselves lost in the darkness of our own hearts. Yet, through introspection and empathy, we can emerge transformed, embracing the warmth of human connection and the promise of a brighter future.

And though I have chosen a festive background, the poem is originally inspired by the photo challenge 542 shared by Mindlovemisery's menagerie

When love turns the key

Love is the answer,
for walls thick with verdigris,
and doors stiff with rust.
Spring dances on the porch.

Welcoming spring

Spring is here.
The fresh crisp breeze.. Giving wings to the creative spirit that resides in all of us...
May this season lead us to path of light... May we all rise and shine...

Tamso Ma Jyotirgamay

'neath the fallen leaves,
the grains of eternal spring.
Seeds germinating.
Drunken sway of mustard crown.
The soft breeze. Subtle wisdom.

Happy Basant Panchami

Winter woods

Lonesome tree, withering in winters,
almost dead,
beneath that misty grey shroud,
surviving with summer in its heart
and sighing with hope in its roots.
Spring breathes life in it, anew.

Drugged on life

Tiny little moments,
infinitesimally small,
simple, ordinary affairs,
served with extra dollop of love,
that take my breath away.
Life happens in
such slow old-school fragments.
And like a slow poison,
they blend,
infusing and diffusing in veins,
interwoven so intricately,
assimilated so seamlessly
that we cannot tell them apart.
The dose thoroughly monitored
and balanced.
Until the addiction consumes us.
Totally.
Merry hearts intoxicated
with the beauty
that this momentary Sojourn holds,
they drink the tonic slowly,
and the aftertaste,
that yummilicious vanilla essence, lingers.
Drugged on life and proudly so.
The intoxication contagious,
I hope the spirit spreads.

Notelets for you

I sit by the window,

relishing

the soothing spring

and spin some words,

delicate, sweet,

and a tad crunchy.

I engrave my odes on paper

like involved intricate carvings.

And then I persuade

the fragrant young gusts

to carry my scribbles

in their folds and pleats

for delivering to you.

One notelet bears

my love for you,

the other, my prayers,

my fervent, ardent wishes.

And I earnestly hope

that when at leisure

you’ll read my letters,

a rosy blush,

a shy smile

will grace your sober lips

at the sheer absurdity of this gift

sent by a crazy me.
