In the loneliest hours

In the loneliest hours,
a littlest whiff of faith,
distinct, like a fragrant rose
and then in the onliest moments,
love greets you.
At the slightest hint
that you are willing
to embrace it too.
The loveliest part is that
in the time that follows,
the jigsaw falls in place,
in those exact, right positions,
and everything, every single thing,
it just becomes miraculously okay.
The bestest thing is the whole picture
that emerges as a mosaic,
a beautiful, magical patchwork.

Doodling an angel

A pen in my hand,

mind wandering, thoughts adrift.

I often doodle.

Nothing concrete, nothing specific.

Random tracings, casual rough drawings.

Lines taking shapes,

of huts, flowers, mandals.

Caricatures on diary pages.

Social feed is full.

Short reels, easy sketching hacks.

Tutorials too.

Stimulated, I attempt,

Oblivious to world.

Quick glance at DIY books.

The first task is to find a muse.

Still, motionless…

I find my inspiration in a whatsapp sticker.

On a crisp A4 sheet,

disproportionate kitty,

scribbled with HB lead.

FM play in the background.

A maid scuttles around with chores.

Something sizzles in kitchen.

I draw.

I draw.

And then subtly

cotton-blend my first creation.

I feel happy within.

Ah! Someday mayhaps,

I too shall master this craft.

Learning like poems.

And here I am.

Giving finishing touches to

Angel

All this while, my mind is wandering,

thoughts adrift.

Hurriedly I scribble on a rough sheet,

some random words.

A couple of redrafts.

And here I am.

Giving finishing touches to

Angel…

The voice within

There are chambers in our hearts,

cavities,

where our thoughts dwell.

And while some of these pockets

are filled with light,

airy, ventilated and vibrant;

some are dark, dank pits,

abysmal and abominable.

Both exhort.

Both persuade. .

Both have a voice.

An orotund voice,

loud and clear.

Alchemizing us.

Rama and Ravana

dwell within us,

in these niches.

Janmashtami

 The cosmos dances,

to the flute-tune of cowherd,

the rhythm, hypnotic.

Love-enchanted, the pawns sway.

Lost cattle, He steers us all.

Hare Krishna. Hare Krishna.
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare.

Bliss

Sweet bliss,

beneath the surface of night,

and then,

hushed, hasty unveiling

of the rosy dawn.

Ah! The reminisces.

Dream #writephoto

I looked at the prompt picture and was instantly reminded of the timeless number 'Dekha ek khwaab'.

After toying with the idea and words... I came up with my translation of the spellbinding musical inspiration.

And as far as I can see,
the mesmerizing spread of
blooming lavender flowerbeds,
'twixt us.
Such an overwhelming,
stunning,
and engulfing,
array of emotions.
Such rash of events.
And all because of one dream.
One beautiful, wondrous reverie.
Life, with you in it.

That black cat

Stretched on parapet,
in sultry summer morning,
inertia, envied.

Crumbs of our love

The crumbs of our love,
the morsels of our affection,
(raw and crisp mostly,
a little stir fry here
or mayhaps a sautΓ©,
generously mixed with
grated mozzarella, and,
seasoned with basil
black pepper and oregano)
served on blank whites,
with lots of heart.
The platter ready,
a bit of us on the serving pallette,
and they call the sizzler, poetry.

They...

Before them, a kaleidoscope of memories.
Behind them, a beautiful life,
Between them, their silent connect.
Infinite conversations,
where,
words are rendered meaningless.

Patchwork of life

Slivers peeking through oriels,
cherished intricate tapestry,
woven together on the loom,
with bits and pieces, all appliqued,
this patchwork of life, breathtaking.

Intrepid adventure

And that is what love is.
An intrepid adventure,
an audacious exploration,
into the deepest realms of heart.
A fearless, brazen stroke of paintbrush,
smearing the life forever,
with hues of bliss.
A masterpiece to behold.
Independent.
Original.
No, not the destination.
But ‘tis a journey.
A daring, gutsy journey of souls.

Lost wanderers

And they started...
On a long road.
Miles of journey.
One burning desire.
To reach their homes,
to that embrace of love.
Setting skies did not matter.
Nor did rising sun.
Like birds at eventide,
they flew back,
to their only shelter in this storm.
Migrants,
that’s what they call them,
these itinerants afoot,
yearning, pining for their nests.
In verity though,
we are all migratory birds.
Tiny specks,
lost wanderers on this atlas.
Ramblers in search of our haven,
somewhere within the deepest,
quietest chambers of our own heart,
where the soul strums in rhythm.
Definitely, a long road ahead.
Miles of journey,
meandering curves,
wilderness too.
One burning desire.
To reach home.

The eventide

The eventide.
That return to the nest,
the dull ache of pendencies,
the weariness of struggles,
the paused turmoils,
the sweat, blood and tears,
all melting,
rather dissolving in
the rustle of fallen leaves in lawn,
the ricocheting laughters indoors,
 the pestering, the tantalizing tease,
the boomerang zealous zest.
The elixir of this life,
that embalming smile on your face.

Shades of life

Eerily empty,
places all around, forsaken.
No scampering feet,
no jostling crowds,
no haggling customers,
no springtime frolicking.
Nothing.
The fountain sings alone,
old coins rusting at its base.
No hushed secrets,
no whispered confessions,
no more a witness
to furtive kisses.
Everywhere, all around,
a ghostly silence,
thick grey shroud,
beneath which,
the questions lurk,
the whats, whos, wheres,
their answers eluding,
confounding.
Deep inside the caves,
there is science and reason,
the protections, the preventions.
Out in the garden,
the flowers are blooming,
red and yellow and white
and the birds are chirping
and cat, basking in sunshine.

Travelling together

Terribly Tiny Tales is collaborating with Mahindra XUV500 and celebrating the love for the road, and for long trips filled with exploring and adventure.

They had sought about 140 characters. For this collaboration.

And here's my version:

One long drive,
an expedition beyond defaults,
winding circuits,
unwinding souls,
zillion experiences,
euphoric high,
souvenirs in heart.

Dawning

The sky pulls a curtain
on the star-studded night
and suddenly, the day peaks,
from the gossamer corners,
flashing a naΓ―ve, innocent smile,
so pristine, so pure, so refreshing,
and the sky lights up.
Slowly at first,
blushing a tad bit,
(that unmistakable
and unmissable
subtle red-violet streak
on the cheeks)
and then the daylight twirls,
and whirls, in full swing,
until the blue trail
of flowing chiffon gown
is splashed everywhere.
Ah! The daybreak.
Raw. Radiant. Resplendent.
The showstopper,
mesmerizing the audience.
The temptation, the tease, serenading.
The trance, the reverie, spellbinding.
The exquisite dawning, inspiring.
Just like you!

Defining her

Where there is a woman, there is magic.

Bitparts, minified.
Yet her layered soul, like a
appliqued rainbow wrap,
bearing her earthy perfume,
encompassing, engulfing.
