In the loneliest hours

In the loneliest hours,
a littlest whiff of faith,
distinct, like a fragrant rose
and then in the onliest moments,
love greets you.
At the slightest hint
that you are willing
to embrace it too.
The loveliest part is that
in the time that follows,
the jigsaw falls in place,
in those exact, right positions,
and everything, every single thing,
it just becomes miraculously okay.
The bestest thing is the whole picture
that emerges as a mosaic,
a beautiful, magical patchwork.

Fantasy #writephoto

Dreams, imaginations, fantasies,

are all but seeds of reality.

They infuse us with spirit,

to make efforts to reach the sky and stars.

This haiku has been written for such spirit.

Crude, rough sandcastles,

on foundations of our dreams,

rests our universe.

Bliss

Sweet bliss,

beneath the surface of night,

and then,

hushed, hasty unveiling

of the rosy dawn.

Ah! The reminisces.

Ecstasy

You,
gallivanting through the zillion veins
of my being,
slowly growing in my soul,
thrumming, beating,
in every pulse,
flowing, gushingly in the sinews,
so passionately,
so ardently,
so fervently,
and all that remains
after that whirling ecstasy is,
us,
blending,
fusing together in soft whispers.

They...

Before them, a kaleidoscope of memories.
Behind them, a beautiful life,
Between them, their silent connect.
Infinite conversations,
where,
words are rendered meaningless.

Life in moments

Beyond the chaos,
someday we will start living,
and
we will celebrate.
Lavish candle light dinners
with
tables and timelines ,
both reserved.

Amidst this mayhem,
when the world is all topsy-turvy,
between the uncertainty of it all,
amongst the fleeting moments,
we will celebrate.
All of us, together,
A home cooked meal,
simple, yet sumptuous,
set out on that grandpa-table,
with extra dullops of love,
and extra-large servings.
Luxuries, only a few can afford.
Such moments of simplicity,
when
through the gossamer curtains of nonce,
that mesmerizing gander of life.

Love for those who matter,
when it matters.

Amen!

The eventide

The eventide.
That return to the nest,
the dull ache of pendencies,
the weariness of struggles,
the paused turmoils,
the sweat, blood and tears,
all melting,
rather dissolving in
the rustle of fallen leaves in lawn,
the ricocheting laughters indoors,
 the pestering, the tantalizing tease,
the boomerang zealous zest.
The elixir of this life,
that embalming smile on your face.

Bluntly romantic

It’s as simple as that.
I love you.
With every iota of breath
that I have.

That I heart
all your smiles
and all your flaws.
That you are
perfect
in all your imperfections.

Forgive me,
I know no poetry,
to say this
any more artistically.

This is just to say

The secrets floating
in your
deep hazel eyes
speaking silently

and urge
to unravel stories,
slowly
translating them

Forgive me
I fell headlong,
completely enamored,
totally consumed .

Buck up

Days come to an end, dreams don't. There's miles to go before we sleep...

Twilight,
wild wings
seek sheltered nook.

Fledglings,
back home,
await their gifts.

Disquieting,
lurking what-ifs
raise their heads.

Unheeding
sunset ahead,
deferred dreams instigate.

Hurrah!
some elbow-grease,
you’re almost there.

Meandrous

Over the river and through deep dark woods,
yonder the city skyline,
spread of winding roadways.

Midnight musings

The soft winds blow.
Nearly-full-moon shines bright.
The wind-chimes tinkle.
Subtly. Tenderly.
It is in such nights,
bedecked with silver,
and embellished with sequins,
that I sit in the lawn
and listen to the faint melody that plays.
And in my heart I talk to you.
Deep meaningful conversations.
In those moments,
you may be miles apart
but these rustlings bring you nearer.
Closer.
Like I can touch you.
Gently. On the cheek.
The uncertain music of the wind-bells rise.
The certainty of love grows.
Loud. Clear. Distinct.
Best part!
The notes stay with me.
Long after the winds rest.

Perfume

Ah! the aroma of us.
If only, I could arrest this perfume
and patiently refill the spray bottle.
And then when you are not around,
I would wear this scent with pride,
like a rare gem from a prized collection,
and breathe your presence.
Oh I know, it won’t bring you back
but it will atleast dull your absence.
Yes! I would seize this togetherness
and live it over and over again.
Every infinitesimally small moment.
I would hold on to it
like my lifeline
for that is what it is.
And then, I would play it.
Repeat. Shuffle off.

Amber inkstains

Poetic droplets,
swirling, twirling in goblets,
like vintage traces
sensually alluring,
psychically exalting.

The amber inkstains,
randomly spilled on splash-screens,
mesmerizing words.

Desires

Amateur desires.
Young. NaΓ―ve. Pure.
Tugging at an equally amateur heart.
Irresistible impulses.
Tantalizing lure.
Of the brimming chalice.
The pulsating life.
The fragile fragments.
The simmering smoldering embers.
The quivering moon.
The yearning, the longing for monsoons.
The savory flavors lilting at the lips,
their taste lingering.
Till long after.

Forlorn

I stare at the blank black screen,
scroll through notification feeds,
obsessively check the settings for ringer volume,
scan the social media, frequently and regularly
scribble irrelevant notes,
patiently converting them to irrelevant poems.
Not a word. No message. No call. Not yours at least.
And then somewhere between dawn and dusk, I fall asleep.
Only to wake up. With your name on my lips.
I know you won’t be there but still I move over to your side.
Breathe in the scent of your pillow and lull myself to sleep.
Trust me, I have never felt this lonely before.

Transliterations

These poems are simply
a hesitating attempt,
to define the
sheer seduction
and pure bewilderment
of the abstract,
(the fresh crisp winds,
the gold floating on rivulets,
the crown glittering on Dhauladhars,
the soft covers of blue skies,
the flawless arch of rainbows,
the mesmerizing cadence of life,
this palette encompassing every hue);
translations
of intangible perceptions;
a modest effort at most,
to capture the essence,
of raw beauty
in these instantaneous transliterations;
random lyrical expressions,
couple of words juxtaposed,
in proper meteric form,
to allow a basic rhythmic structure.
Oh! These poems are
nothing but
the words flowing,
creating puddles of melodies,
in the faint hope that someday
birdsongs will breath life in them.
