The Divine Proposal

This poem offers a meditative reflection on divine love, symbolizing the profound reciprocity between human initiative and the boundless response of the divine. It suggests that a single step toward the sacred is reciprocated with an infinite journey of care, support, and grace. The poem’s vivid imagery contrasts minimal human effort with overwhelming divine commitment, invoking spiritual assurance and hope, while evoking themes of surrender and eternal, transformative love. A timeless message of unconditional devotion.

The only proposal that has ever existed in love,
is that you take, but one step, towards Him
and He shall walk, a million miles, to meet you
embrace you and carry you, across all the way.

Happy propose day!!!

The mark of love

Dewdrops glistening.
On purple skin of twilight,
handful of diamonds.
The kiss of moonbeams on earth,
beautiful, the mark of love.

Summer romance

Daisies.
Innocent hearts,
fleeting summer romance.

Crimson eventides

Replete with cliché mushiness,
and cheesy dialogues,
that's how all love stories are.
Impacable feelings,
impossible to reign in.
Theoretical chemical reactions
work their magic in this mortal structure,
primarily made of
hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen,
the pioneer ingredients of all life,
blending effortlessly
with a fleet of other elements.
The village is painted red,
with glare of passion.
A stereotype romantic tale,
so easy to visualize.

A guest knocks on the
chamber called heart,
and the sentry called brain
fails to announce
the arrival of storm called love.
Thunderous reverberations of life follow.
Approximate rhymes
become melodious songs.
And there's
inexplicable, mystifying fixation
with one another.

We can not allow love.
For a simple reason
that it does not seek permission.
But slowly, gradually, we find
that our eventides
are suffused with crimson.
Try as we might.

The weekly haiku prompt is : coffee.
And my take on the prompt is....

A bittersweet taste
lingers, aroma of love
wafts, reminiscence.

And I will let it take you where it takes you 😉

A little fuss

This poem that I share here was written in the week gone by. The prompt words were sweaty, sunny and ice. And I attempted rhyming style.

The poem is developed around a simple summer scene. Nothing intricate or complex. And this was the underlying theme. As the poem progresses, the summer scene gives way to romance. And that is the main highlight. That love is nothing intricate or complex. At times it is just two people connecting and bonding, spending quality time. It's not about getting dressed to nines. At least not everytime. Sometimes its just a hurried get together in a crowded food court. Love is simple. And there is but a little fuss involved.

The poem is titled : A LITTLE FUSS

It was a sweltering sunday
of a very summery sunny may.
And the tiny bachelorette pad,
craved for some broom, brush and swab.
From the hideout, laundry stared back,
sweaty, stinky me soaked the stack.
Chores done, then to pamper yours truly,
a little scrub, rub, tone and moisturize duly.
Date with you, it just slipped my mind.
A leisurely siesta... Oh! I unwind.
Your call woke me up and look how
You're already at the venue and I start now.
I jog, trot, hop all the way to food court.
A little breathless, but finally I report.
The next few hours, 'twas just you and me,
bonding over a chilled cola and iced tea.
And by the time, we said our goodbyes,
the noon sun mellowed, sidewards in skies.
I guess we left behind little parts of us,
tiny bits of our hearts, to create a little fuss.

Love finds its way

There are times
when we clash.
Ablaze, we sleep.
The night grows
and the sleepy me
unknowingly tilts over
to your side of bed
and snuggle by your side.
Like nothing had happened.
A sunshine ray.
Tomorrow starts with you.
Love finds its way.
Every single time.

Love

 And 'tis be our aim.

Guided by faith, hope and love.

And of these, my dear...

Well, love stands at both the ends...

the fount and the terminus.

Musings Of My Heart

Oh! And I can imagine her.

Dressed in a checkered shirt and jeans.

Sitting on a black ergonomically designed chair,

with cushioned shamrock green seat,

her head buried in

some thick weather-beaten file,

with dusty and damaged cover,

and pages permanently curled up.

A heap of such voluminous folders

strategically arranged

in a red 10*8 office basket,

placed to her right for easy access.

Then there’s sheaf of papers stacked on her left,

which are to be dealt on priority.

Kind of to-do list for the day.

And somewhere on this little beige wooden platform,

that she likes to call her workstation,

she finds space to fit in

the sanitizer, the stationery holder

and her thermo-steel water bottle.

There are many windows open

on her desktop screen.

Clearly multi-tasking,

Finishing this, finalizing that,

getting many things done simultaneously.

Handling a phone-call with one hand,

replying to an e-mail with the other,

her face determined but soft,

her mind set on current reference.

The distinct rhythm of printer,

the ringing phones here and there,

the monotonous hum-drum of office,

and in between all of this,

I cross her thoughts.

Randomly.

Just like that.

You know…

May be.

Just like that

 And just like that.

I babble deep into the night.

And you caress me,
touching my soul,
without touching me.

You don't hear me speak.
You listen.
To the spoken, and,
to the silent
sonics of my heart.

You listen.
Not to answer.
But to understand.

Just like that.
You indulge me
into being myself.

Just like that
you walk through the mesh
of arteries and veins
and settle in some auricle.
Mayhaps ventricle.

Oh, it doesn't matter!
As long as you are there for me.
In my heart!

ਥਾਂ (Place)

Impromptu

Just like that, you walk into my life.

Chance meeting.

And you decide to stay back.

For a little while.

And then extending your stay.

And just like that I pick up my pen.

Impromptu scribblings about us.

Gradually becoming a book of poems.

Like our eternal echoes.

Luminous

Like radiant, luminous streak,

of shooting star,

you cross my life.

In that miniscule moment,

my love becomes my prayer.

Believe it or not.

But you light up my life.

Sheer love

 The adrenaline comes rushing

through the bloodstream,

colouring my cheeks,

that deep pinkish red,

and I feel the warmth too.

Like all eyes are on me.

And that thumping of the heart,

the beat, audibly loud,

the force, quite impactful.

Embarrassed. Scared. Proud. Happy.

All at the same time.

Tongue-tied, thus,

whenever she calls me.

Blushing too.

Scientifically, they say,

it’s nervous system responding

to a stimulus, so strong,

that the tongue disconnects from brain,

momentarily,

making all my words disappear, suddenly.

But to me, this is love.

Sheer love.

Stammering and stuttering, outside

and yet,

profound and earnest, within.
