A welcome glint
In moments of stillness, when the chaos quiets and nature reveals its gentle truths, even a fleeting beam of sunlight becomes a messenger of...

X is for ... Xmas
The faint scent of winter in the air
Competing
With the remains of autumn,
Fireworks and light
Swirling into our nights,
Traditions seeping into
Our daily lives,
Spirits conquering the
Inertia of routine,
Souls seeking sacral refuge
In celebrations.
The days leading upto Xmas,
Rich with the scent of festivities.
The nights dizzyingly beautiful,
Evenings glistening with love,
And tea-time conversations,
Centered around homebound journeys.
Yay! I can feel the Xmas peeking
From around the corners.

V is for ... Voice
Winds of whispers
Blow around me
And toss our words
In the dark silence.
Our hushed voices,
Long conversations,
Longer phone bills,
Resplendent nights.
You and me
Talking our hearts out
Till the wee hours of morning
Used to dawn upon us.
A million words scattered,
Between you and me
And bridging the distance
Beneath a million stars.
Now a million stars
Watch over me
As I stare at dark screen
Of my phone
And pine to hear
From you.
Your voice drifting away,
Receding to memoirs
Of yesterday.
Blow around me
And toss our words
In the dark silence.
Our hushed voices,
Long conversations,
Longer phone bills,
Resplendent nights.
You and me
Talking our hearts out

P is for ... Piggybank
I shake my fading piggybank
and in the rattle of spare coins
my childhood jingles.
Penny by penny,
we built a happy account,
ringing with love and laughter.
The idea of collecting
scrapes of cheer
has long faded.
And piggybanks now run dry.
Occasionally, my nephews
spill the one I had
and happy moments roll out.
Amidst the singing of coins,
we share a tale or two.

O is for ... Opportunity
I am born daily,
out of the dust of stars.
With each sunrise,
I bring promises of light.
A dimpled smile and playing peekaboo,
I am your opportunity.
out of the dust of stars.
With each sunrise,
I bring promises of light.
A dimpled smile and playing peekaboo,
I am your opportunity.

M is for ... Music
Her every breath,
Melody.
Her every heartbeat,
Playing the rhythm
Of drums.
Every embrace,
Reverberating
With warmth,
Echoing mellifluously.
Each vibe, each note,
Euphonous.
Her lilting strides,
In tandem with the beats.
Like a birdsong,
The bittersweet lyrics
Whispered in the eternity.
The journey between the notes,
Commanding
A standing ovation.
I would love to play
This songlike life
On a repeat mode
In my playlist.

K is for ... Kites
Rhombic paper-mache of dreams
Dancing aloft in wind currents.
Undulating in the infinity.
Conquering the crested iris.
A distant silhouette
Tasting the skies,
Inspiring to look
Further and higher.
Tangled reins
Locked in trance.
Behold! Their rhythm,
Ceaselessly goading.
The unruly stringless wanderer
Scaling the silver skylines.
Skilled hands mastering
The string, now loose, now taut,
Willing it in to a smooth glide,
Urging and encouraging the flight.
Wide-eyed innocence
Mesmerized,
Their young beating heart,
Reaching for stars,
Untiringly, chasing the kites.

F is for ... Family
For all that I am,
For all that I can be,
And
For all that I will be,
There is no force
More propelling,
More steering,
More balancing
Than
The love of my folks.
A part of their blood,
Their flesh
And
Their genes;
A part of their dreams
And aspirations and hopes;
A part of their hearts and souls;
I am nothing,
Nothing but dust,
Nothing but zilch,
Nothing but bones and flesh
Without their tiny resemblances
Coursing through my being.
They define me
And
They refine me, too.
My each step, every single breath
Is because of them.
Thank you Lord!
For I can find you distributed
In
Bits and pieces
In this human tapestry
Closest to me.
I choose to call it my family.
For all that I can be,
And
For all that I will be,
There is no force
More propelling,
More steering,
More balancing
Than
The love of my folks.
