Jaggery days

This poem celebrates Makar Sankranti, a festival of new beginnings, gratitude, and harvest. As the winter mists lift, the sun's radiance returns, symbolizing hope and renewal. The skies fill with soaring kites, carrying dreams and prayers for prosperity. The air carries the aroma of roasted sesame and jaggery, signifying warmth, unity, and sweetness in life. This poem captures the essence of Sankranti—the transition from darkness to light, from cold to warmth, reminding us that every end is a new beginning. It is a tribute to the simple joys of life and the enduring spirit of hope and community.

January mists.
Yet the sun shines, the kites fly,
and the people pray.
Days of darkness, gone,
mists carry roasted fragrance.
Jaggery, and nuts.

Welfare unto all

Defying winters

Embers of passion,
defying solemn winters.
Folks, making merry.
Around the bonfire,
gratitude and revelry.
Life, celebrated.
Howling icy winds,
silenced, their grim might broken.
Strong, the zeal to live.
Echoes of folk songs,
vibrating through the dark night.
Spirit, thus kindled.
The sun reclaims reign,
the sultry siestas past.
Zestful, the kites soar.

Heartiest greetings for Lohri and Makar Sakranti
