The pulse of freedom

There is a sight I hold dear. A misty morning, a grey veil, green hills in the background, lush and abundant. On the fore, at about 100 feet...

To shop or not to shop

Around New Year’s time,
And you want a resolution.
One look
At that overflowing closet;
Those sweaters and jackets;
Those heaps of clothing.
I know, I know.
I have thought it over.
No more shopping for me.
Strictly.

I just walked into the “Fashion Mall”.
And oh! That jacket looks so good!
Is my resolve weakening already?

  1. It's so true. I have piles, but most of my shirts have stains. :) And who doesn't need a fresh, white shirt at the beginning of the season? I'm no help. :)

    Thanks for linking up!

  4. oh no...run away from the mall. :-) Keep busy with writing and producing those well crafted works of yours.

    or, you can empty your closet, give away the old ones, then you will have reason to shop. Ooopps... not too helpful. :-)

    I wish you well in your resolve. :-)

    1. Thank you Imelda. I find both of your ideas very helping.
      It helps both ways, shopping and not shopping.

  5. I've been trying to make sure I don't buy anything lately unless I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! It doesn't matter if it's on sale from $100 to $5 ... if I don't wear it, it's a WASTED $5 that just takes up space in my closet!

    Great one, Ruby. Thanks for linking up.

  6. Ha! You made me laugh!

    I need to apply this philosophy to Grandlittle clothes! I cannot enter a store without wanting to buy one of them something!

    And then, if I buy one something...sigh, I need to buy them ALL something.

    It's a cycle.

    Sigh.

    I think I need a support group for this!

    Thanks for a wonderful link!

    Happy (belated but sincere) New Year!
