A Fable

The moth hovered,
The flame flickered,
Closer by and by,
Dancing in rhythm,
And then I know not,
If the flames leapt up

  1. Oh my goodness, I really enjoyed this! I read it 3 or 4 times in my head and then read it out loud. The words are just so lovely together. Everything fits, you know?
Yes it's kind of a vague compliment, but I don't know how else to explain it. :-)
    Excellent job!

  2. that dance never seems to end too well for the moth but they are always drawn to each other :-)

  3. Well, they went out with reckless abandon, at least! Great moral to the story. Are we all drawn to the flame at one time or another?

  5. I love that final image of the moth kissing the fire, and of the two being lovers in a single dance.

  6. We are all similarly drawn, aren't we? This sent beautiful imagery through my mind. Bittersweet and felt romantic. Too bad they only had the opportunity to share one kiss. But so it goes.
