A winter's reflection

In the quietude of winter, we often find ourselves confronted with the depths of our own being. This free verse exploration delves into the emotional landscape of this season, from despair to hope. Like the character of Ebenezer Scrooge, we may find ourselves lost in the darkness of our own hearts. Yet, through introspection and empathy, we can emerge transformed, embracing the warmth of human connection and the promise of a brighter future. And though I have chosen a festive background, the poem is originally inspired by the photo challenge 542 shared by Mindlovemisery's menagerie  Welfare unto all  Rab rakha

A tender embrace

Mata Gujri ji, a beacon of unwavering faith and resilience, was the mother of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Guru of Sikhism. This free verse septet is a humble tribute to her, commemorating her 400th birth anniversary. It delves into a tender moment between her and the young Guru Gobind Singh Ji, encapsulating the profound bond they shared. Welfare unto all  Rab rakha

Winter’s Feathered Dance

The onset of winter brings a quiet magic, a stillness that envelops the world and invites us to notice the smaller, gentler moments around us. One such foggy day, I found myself captivated by the lively presence of sparrows in the garden. Some fluttered around the bird feeder, others splashed joyfully in the bird bath, while a few pecked at the grass or perched on the parapet. Their playful energy and simple existence were a balm to the soul, a reminder of the beauty in life's fleeting moments. This haiku captures that serene yet vibrant scene, inviting the reader to pause and savor the harmony of nature as it dances with the changing season. #haiku #garden #sparrows #birds #winters #poetry #shortpoetry #micropoetry #shortpoem #micropoem #welfareuntoall #rabrakha Winter's feathered dance Welfare unto all  Rab rakha

Waves of grace, winds of Naam (Nanak Naam Jahaz Hai)

Waves of grace, winds of Naam (Nanak Naam Jahaz Hai) On the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Gurpurab, this poem emerges as a humble reflection on the timeless wisdom imparted by the first Guru of the Sikhs. Inspired by the profound verse "Nanak Naam Jahaz Hai," which likens the Divine Name to a steadfast ship guiding the soul across the stormy seas of life, this dodoistu adaptation seeks to capture the essence of that divine voyage. In Guru Nanak's vision, the Name of God is not just a mantra—it is a lifeline, a vessel of grace that carries us through the turbulence of our worldly struggles. The poem follows this theme, celebrating the soul’s journey from uncertainty to enlightenment, reminding us that, despite the trials of life, the Guru's teachings offer unwavering refuge and guidance. This poem seeks to honor the simplicity and power of Nanak's message: to live a life of humility, devotion, and unity, and to always hold fast to the Name, which s...
