Lonely in the milieu

The jam packed six - eight lanes,
The buses almost bursting at their seams,
Yet another lac or so that crowds the metros
I stand amidst a huge milieu ...
Of seemingly empty hearts

Linking with Trifextra : Week Fifty-Five - For this weekend's challenge we're asking you to include some hyperbole in your piece.  It doesn't have to be the whole piece, but it needs to be in there, and we're looking for 33 words, as usual.

  1. It's so true. We can be alone and sad, empty, surrounded by hundreds of people. Reminds me of the mindless way people go to work in the city.

  9. Had to look up "lac" - I've never heard it before.
Apart from hyperbole, you also rocked irony: all those people and such lonliness.
