Unleashed

Born to conquer the wilds,
Their free spirits
Tamed by human needs.
Locked in doghouses,
Kennelled and inhibited,
The nascent canines
Adapting and adjusting
To our ways and wills.
One day we unlatched
The outbuildings
Relieving the whimpering gangs
Of invisible pain.

  1. I would like to know what this invisible pain is, since my dog acts like she is having the time of her life most days! Lol

    1. Good thing.
My take was a little different, the invisible pain of being caged and domesticated.

  2. When I see my neighour 's labrador shut in the apartment with all the needs looked after, is the dog really happy? Or would she liked to be free moving around? We always assume they are happier in the company of humans in apartments .

  4. This is intriguing. I do wonder how much of a love of the wild is left inside house dogs.

    1. I think we can't take away the love of wild from them ever. But then different strokes for different folks.
      Thank you Marcy.
